Abstract The innovative technique of a hybrid PVD timber pile as vertical drain can be implemented to reinforce and improve soft soil. In this case, the acceleration pore water dissipation could increase shear strength. at soil study is investigate effectiveness eucalyptus pellita-PVD drain. test method applied laboratory model test, consisting installation on in rectangular pattern with spacing 10 cm. Then by static loading was subjected an initial load kg subsequent loads 20 40 kg. Daily dial monitoring performed during preloading test. results show that accelerate process surface compared using piles alone. density before after indicated enhanced 3.9%, whereas reinforcement only just increased 2.4%.
